Because of its orientation full West, Dajuma is the ideal place where to enjoy stunning sunsets while savoring a delicious cocktail prepared by our waiters. During sunsets, at low tide, the cape in front of Dajuma is often discovered and gives rise to an amazing spectacle where local families come to bathe (the famous “mandi mandi”) while fishermen are preparing their prahos for the night fishing. In terms of SPA “Sanitas Per Aquam” in Latin or “Health Through Water“, what is better than these giant pots shaped by the volcanoes lava for bathing? It is in these natural bassins filled with mineral-rich seawater by the tides that our guests and the villagers are used to relax, preferably at sunset, just before or after a Balinese massage, in front of the tropical garden of Dajuma. A good opportunity to discover the benefits of this “Volcano Spa” and to practice the “art of conversation” with other guests and locals. Every dusk is a delight at Dajuma with breathtaking sunsets ! The resort being on a cape oriented full west, one can see stunning sunsets from almost any area with different angles. What a show to see the local fishermen pushing their prahos to the sea and preparing themselves to spend the night fishing offshore!

At sunset, there is one thing that kids love above all: it is to walk along a sandy beach trying to catch the most possible crabs and seashells! On the photo, two sweet little girls Calypso and Lola run on the beach in the direction of the tall coconut tree that marks the boundary of the resort on the East side. A moment of pure happiness!
Many of our guests tell us that Dajuma is just like a paradise. It is very kind of them to give such an opinion because it was one of the reasons why we decided 15 years ago to establish the resort in this place, at a time West Bali was just ignored by tours operators, guides… and tourists.
But what makes us so happy today is the way children are spending their time in Dajuma: the combination between sea, beach, garden and pool is just perfect for them. The cape at low tide is like a natural aquatic garden where they can explore the underwater life by looking at the volcanic holes visited by fishes, crabs, corals, shrimps and other seaweeds. And for those parents who need to relax and recover from their busy professional life, we offer a baby sitting service.

Puri Dajuma has been chosen by the editor of Yo Donna magazine to illustrate the beauty of Balinese architecture through its outstanding beachfront Pondok Segara villa.
The Yo Donna magazine is the women supplement of the renowned Spanish newspaper El Mundo which is the second largest printed daily newspaper in Spain.
We hope it will attract more guests from Spain who are always most welcome in our resort.
Is there a better place than the cape in front of Dajuma where to find these delicious sea shells such as clams, abalone, whelks, clams or shrimps ? This is what this villager and his son is looking for, near the sunset.
Arguably the volcanic cape in front of Dajuma is a fantastic window on the underwater life. At low tide you can even see the famous brain coral near the surface of the water. So easy to catch all kinds of shells … without forgetting crabs … so good for the seafood soup!
There is a lovely tradition in Bali which consists in flying kites all around the island, all the year long. Since their youngest age, Balinese people are used to practice this activity, starting from the construction of the kite up to tough competitions with a strong moment in the year with the Bali Kite Festival, an annual international kite festival held in Padang Galak area in Sanur. Traditional giant kites (4 meters in width and almost 10 meters in length) are made and flown competitively by teams from the villages (banjar) of Bali. The event is a seasonal religious festival intended to send a message to the Hindu Gods to create abundant crops and harvests.The teams consist of about 70 to 80 people, each team with its own Gamelon band, flag bearers and flyers.
At Dajuma, we love introducing our guests to this remarkable activity that reminds us so much of our youth!
Every week on Saturday, the children with their teachers come to the beach in front of Dajuma to do exercise.
The pupils come from the kindergarden to the elementary school in Pekutatan called TK Harapan 2. They choose this place because of the nice view and the proximity of the school.

Saturday May 9th, 2015 was a special day in Bali: under the leadership of the army, thousands of Balinese villagers went around all Bali beaches to clean them up. An exceptional moment where people of all ages collected plastic bags and other garbage brought by the sea and the rivers.
The protection of its exceptional environment is a real concern in Bali. Millions of tourists visit g the island every year and the way the waste is managed by the authorities is still far from what is needed. Among the necessary measures to be taken, the idea to educate and train the villagers is definitely a good one.
This is what Dajuma is doing in various areas: recycling of glass bottles, compost which can eliminate up to 80% of the domestic waste, cleaning of the beach and the surroundings of the hotel every 2 weeks by our own staff, no effluents to the sea, etc.
Hopefully this initiative will be continued in the coming years !
