SAFEGUARD MEASURES AT DAJUMA Puri Dajuma, Beach Eco-Resort & Spa, West Bali

Dajuma like all other hotels in Bali is facing a major crisis due to the coronavirus pandemic. Our reservations have been dropping drastically as well as our revenue.
In this unusual context, we would like to reach 2 objectives:
1- Convince our guests not to panic by cancelling all their reservations, including those far in time. We already changed our cancellation policy last week by allowing cancellations until the day before the stay and to change the dates of the stay at no extra cost. In spite of these advantageous conditions and without any risk for the customer, reservations even distant in time continue to be canceled and create a certain stress with our staff. The best decision you can make if you are desirous to help us is definitively to maintain your reservations as much as possible or change them, but not to cancel them.
2- Keep our staff, their families and our guests in good health: because the impact of the pandemic is still almost inexistant in Bali, most of Balinese people don’t observe enough prevention. So we explained to our staff to be very careful with this virus by applying some simple rules between the staff and also with our guests: keep 1 meter distance with people, always cough in the elbow, do not shake hands, wash regularly hands after touching any object not part of the usual environment, especially metallic ones, limit as much as possible the trips and to meet as few people as possible including the family if not in the same village. By applying these simple rules, hopefully we will drastically reduce the risk of contagion in our preserved West Bali and keep our staff and our guests in good health.
We look forward to welcoming you again soon! Please help us by not cancelling your reservations.

CORONA VIRUS CRISIS Puri Dajuma, Beach Eco-Resort & Spa, West Bali Uncategorized

Difficult, this week, to speak of anything other than the pandemic whose effects are felt throughout the tourism industry. Despite the few reported cases, Bali is not spared because the decisions taken by foreign governments to limit the movements of their nationals have a negative impact on the attendance of the island. Dajuma like the other hotels is not immune to the decline in activity.
So, in this new context, the only thing to do is to remain optimistic, hoping that things will return to normal quickly. In the meantime, all arrangements are made at the hotel to ensure optimum sanitary conditions for our guests.
Also important, to allow them to book without fear in the coming weeks, we have revised our cancellation policy by allowing cancellations without charge, until the day before the stay. Similarly, postponements of stays are possible at no cost.
Take good care of yourself and see you soon back in Dajuma!

This is one feature of our resort to offer this pleasure to our guests. Pleasure which is particularly appreciated. Depending on your accommodation choice, cottages or villas, you will find the same equipment but with different decorations: 2 basins, 1 suspended smart toilet, 1 open air shower, 1 bathtub and 1 or 2 wardrobes. On the picture a glance of what you will find on your next visit! The picture was taken from our 1 bedroom villa Bendega Surya C.

A NEW HAT FOR OUR RAMA TERRACE Puri Dajuma, Beach Eco-Resort & Spa, West Bali

With the Bendega villas extension of Dajuma in 2016, our Rama restaurant needed more space what we did with an outside terrace particularly appreciated by our guests because of its proximity with the sea. From there we have breathtaking views on sunsets and a gentle breeze from the sea. This year we decided to put a hat on it. But not an ordinary one: we chose the shape, depending on your imagination, of a banana or a leaf fallen down from the tree or a turtle shell. Some others can think of a Toraja roof. Anyway, the job has been performed by a skilled team of 6 workers headed by our old friend Selamat (green shirt on the picture). Not easy to realize such a complex roof but Selamat did it! Congratulations!

HAPPY NEW YEAR! Puri Dajuma, Beach Eco-Resort & Spa, West Bali music jegog gamelan dancing

This year again, Dajuma celebrated the New Year in a very festive way. More than 80 guests enjoyed the New Year Eve with 3 orchestras (Jegog, Gamelan and Western Live), a pantagruelic buffet including, beside other dishes, the famous “babi guling” and delicious desserts prepared by our kitchen team under the attentive supervision of our 2 Chefs, Dedi and Rudi. The decoration theme this year was “nature”. All our staff participated in the preparation of very nice decorative items including a splendid Garuda entirely made of bamboo and palm leaves. The kitchen stands and the stage were also decorated with natural leaves. On the 12th stroke of midnight, everybody was happy to exchange their wishes for 2020 under the stars and a beautiful firework. We wish you a very happy, healthy and exciting year 2020!

MERRY CHRISTMAS Puri Dajuma, Beach Eco-Resort & Spa, West Bali Dajuma Eco-Resort West Bali

On behalf of the entire Dajuma staff, Lely and Erik on the picture would like to wish you a very merry Christmas!
This year our Christmas tree is really special: it is made of driftwood collected on the beach. To show the snow, we picked up some kapok from the kapok trees of our neighbours. The result is this beautiful and so special construction particularly appreciated by our guests. It is also a modest part of our effort to limit our carbon footprint.

LAUNCH OF OUR ENVIRONMENTAL PROJECT Puri Dajuma, Beach Eco-Resort & Spa, West Bali

In cooperation with the German company Stoneline (, we are happy to launch a new environmental project aimed at awaring the young generations in Bali to the necessary protection of their environment. It will consist in proposing to the 5 primary schools of the district of Pekutatan and their 496 pupils a drawing contest on a given topic linked to the protection of their environment. 3 winners per school will be rewarded by an independent jury, while a reusable strong bag, aimed at reducing the use of plastic, will be distributed to each and every family for their shopping. The first step has been accomplished recently with the distribution of decorative flowers and plants which will adorn the gardens of the schools. We will regularly keep you posted of the progress of this project.

NATACHA: OUR REPEATER GUEST CHAMPION Puri Dajuma, Beach Eco-Resort & Spa, West Bali

Let’s Natacha talk about her Bali experience:

“When coming from Paris 10 years ago, I discovered another world in Bali, more precisely Dajuma world: it changed my life.
I was more than impressed by the setting of the resort built on a beautiful cape enhanced by fishermen activities and birds, the neighbor praho beach on West bay, the endless wild East beach, the nature at its best which makes you breathing and regenerating. I enjoyed the large Balinese style cottages with private terrasse and garden, the large pools overlooking the oceans, the restaurants and SPA by the sea.
But the most important in my opinion are the people I met there, particularly the regretted Indra whose spirit is still accompanying me today. Also among the staff and in the village, where people are always eager bringing happiness to each other. It made me feel so different. I discovered another part of myself and decided to change of carrer, I am therapist now.
I was really touched by their philosophy ‘Tri Hita Karana’ : Harmony between Humans and Gods, Humans and Nature, Humans themselves.
After 3 vacation stays, I decided to spend 6 months straight at Dajuma in 2013, participating in every ceremony and event. I even travelled to Yogyakarta together with the first Dajuma employees trip. I became familiar to many families around the village. We consider each other like a real family: we share many things, our happiness and sadness, when I am also far away, in France. We don’t like to being separated for a long time.
And I am now again back for 6 weeks, total 54 weeks. I love Bali!”

Terima kasih banyak Natacha for this so touching testimony!

FIRST RAIN IN BALI: A BLESSING FOR FARMERS AND OUR GUESTS Puri Dajuma, Beach Eco-Resort & Spa, West Bali tropical garden

This year, Indonesia including Bali, had a longer dry season than usual. In West Bali, where we are located, most of the villagers are farmers. Their fields were dry, some of their crops, mainly rice and vegetables, suffered from the longer dry season. Everybody was expecting the rain to come soon. Finally, it happened in the beginning of November. We saw villagers around us so happy and grateful to be able to celebrate the first rain. This period of the year is also a blessing for our guests: for a few moments of rain mainly during the night, they get in return an even more beautiful nature. In our tropical garden the flowers are blooming like never. The clouds in the sky also create breathtaking sunsets, lasting for much longer than during the dry season. Something you should not miss next time you decide to visit us in the coming weeks!
