THE SEASON OF OLIVE RIDLEY SEA-TURTLE LAYING EGG

From April to November, we are lucky to see each year the laying of sea turtles on the beaches surrounding Dajuma. The eggs are quickly brought to the sea turtle conservatory in Perancak that we support for years. After 50 to 70 days the eggs hatch in a protected place, giving birth to baby turtles. Our customers and especially children are always very excited to follow the process until the birth of baby turtles. And what an emotion when you take into your hands these beings still so fragile to put them to sea safely!

“Hari Kartini” Indonesian National Day

Every 21st of April, Indonesians commemorate Hari Kartini (Kartini’s Day). A day to celebrate the Indonesian hero of women empowerment – Raden Ajeng Kartini, also called Ibu Kartini (1879-1904). She was a pioneer in the area of education for girls and women’s rights for Indonesians. She wrote letters about her ideas and feelings which were published in a Dutch magazine. The most popular book she wrote titled “Out of Darkness to Light” (Habis gelap terbitlah terang, in Bahasa). Kartini greatly contributed to improve the condition of all Indonesian women. UPIN IPIN WELCOME!

By chance, this couple of dwarf hens became the mascot of Dajuma. Every day, they roam the entire property in all directions to the delight of our customers and especially children. They are incredibly kind and cute to watch. They also fulfill their role in terms of cleaning the garden. Our staff has named them Upin Ipin, an easy-to-remember nickname that refers to the Malaysian cartoon, which is very popular in Indonesia at the moment. We are sure you will be happy to meet them on your next visit to Dajuma!

LUNCH ON THE BEACH

Dajuma is also the place in West Bali where it is nice to stop over for a delicious lunch on the beach. This is what is shown on these pictures where 2 groups of guests stop recently for a revigorating break around our delicious specialty called Balinese Rijsttafel. Imagine a traditional tray called Rsi Bojana, normally used for offerings, where are disposed 6 different dishes typical of Balinese cuisine. A culinary experience which is worth it. Why don’t you also stop over next time you travel from/to Java or Menjangan? We would be delighted to welcome you!

DAJUMA REWARDED BY “2018 GLOBAL EXPERIENCE AWARD 2018”

We just received from the South African company TWISHT (www.twisht.com) a new award entitled “2018 Global Experience Award”.
It is different from other awards we already received this year insofar as it is related to guest satisfaction. The award is indeed allocated to hotels achieving a guest satisfaction rating above 80% on all the major websites.
With the Hall of Fame distinction we receive from Trip Advisor since 2014, this is the best appreciation we can dream of! It rewards the exceptional relationship all our staff has with our guests! Well done guys!
