APPLE MANGO SEASON IN BALI

In Bali, the apple mango season brings a burst of tropical delight typically from November to March. These mangoes, medium to large in size, exhibit a unique round to ovate shape with gently curved ends, setting them apart from regular mango varieties. The apple mangoes in Bali are known for their exquisite taste, a harmonious blend of sweetness and slight tartness, creating a memorable flavor profile.
Unlike regular mangoes, the apple mango stands out with its thinner and smoother skin, giving it a distinct texture and a light, waxy feel. The fruits weigh between 280 to 580 grams, making them ideal for both snacking and culinary creations. As the season unfolds, the vibrant markets of Bali showcase these mangoes at their peak, drawing locals and tourists alike to indulge in the tropical goodness. BENDEGA RESTAURANT LIFTING

By carefully listening to the voice of our guests, we came to the conclusion that our Bendega restaurant should be redesigned and particularly assigned to new missions. Indeed, our guests have massively expressed the wish to have a place after dinner where to relax, listen to good music while savoring delicious cocktails and playing cards, ping-pong, billiards and darts. No sooner said than done Bendega restaurant is now Bendega Pub, open everyday from 19h to 22h30 except when our teppanyaki is open or when there is a special entertainment at our Rama Restaurant.

MAGIC SUNKEN BAR

In the collective imaginary of a successful vacation, the immersed bar holds a special place. Imagine the scene for a moment: it is  Happy Hours, the sun is declining on the horizon, the pool water is delightfully temperate, and our bartender invites you to taste one of his cocktails which have earned him win the competition for the best bartender in Bali while you are seating on the sunken stools. This is exactly what our photo shows this week: an exceptional moment of relaxation in the Rama swimming pool!

MAGNIFICENT DRAGON FRUIT

With such a name, our attention is instantly attracted. So what is this fruit, completely unknown in Europe? Also called “Pitahaya”, it is the fruit of a cactus that grows everywhere in the tropical areas of our planet. Its name probably comes from its skin looking like leather with prominent scaly tips. Anyway, it is delicious in many ways, either as a fruit or as a juice. Ours in Dajuma grow in the garden with this unique Indian pink color inside as shown on the photo.

DAJUMA WON A COCKTAIL COMPETITION

On Saturday, April 3rd, 2021, the Indonesian Bartender Association organised at Anjungan Cerdas Rambut Siwi a contest of the best cocktail. 15 participants from local hotels were the competitors. One of our bar tenders, Erik, represented Puri Dajuma in that event. The challenge launched to the competitors was to create an original cocktail with only local ingredients including the famous arak Bali. Erik named his creation “Mebarung” and was the happy winner of the competition. On the picture, Erik is on the left. For sure this new cocktail will enrich our cocktails list and hopefully be appreciated by our guests. Congratulations dear Erik!

This famous slogan is also applied in Dajuma to the delight of our guests every day between 5 and 6 p.m. just before the sunset with almost 20 different choices including cocktails, mocktails and beers. Every day, our bar tenders love to surprise our guests by proposing a “cocktail of the day” always creative and delicious. But the most important is the place where to savour these cocktails. HEALTHY COOLER JAMU

In Balinese culture, “Jamu” is a key word and a art of living. It is also the name of one of our popular « healthy coolers ». Why such a name? Because in Bahasa Indonesia, its meaning is “treatment of diseases by plants” and we would translate it by phytotherapy. In each Balinese family, there is is an ancestral know how transmitted from generation to generation about the vertues of the plants. With the help of local specialists, we elaborated at Dajuma some healthy drinks based on local plants which are not only good at taste but also revigorating and much appreciated by our guests. On the picture, a sample of these unique ingredients entering into the recipe of our Jamu healthy drink: turmeric, tamarin and lime. Selamat minum (Cheers)!

DRAGON FRUIT SEASON

What a strange fruit this Dragon Fruit, also known as Pitaya in the Americas! It is one of these emblematic tropical fruits from the cactus which makes so surprised our guests from abroad. Surprise because of its external appearance looking like a flame, and second surprise when opening it, either white or pink inside with its crunchy seeds!
During the rainy season, we are used to serve the dragon fruits in three different manners: on fruit platter, as fresh juices or as jam with cinnamon.
Regularly, some guests who really like our dragon fruit homemade jam with cinnamon want to bring back home some as a souvenir. Don’t miss to taste this delicious fruit next time you visit us!
