A few kilometers from Dajuma, close to the sacred tree Bunut Bolong, we were invited last saturday to the inauguration of a new trekking area by the government of Jembrana which is this region of West Bali where Dajuma is located. Jembrana is now well known for its authenticity and the variety of its hidden treasures: the famous Bali National Park with its unique diving and snorkeling spot Menjangan, another worldclass spot for surfing called Medewi, the holy temple of Rambut Siwi, the fishing harbor of Perancak, the buffalo races, the Jegog music and so many other curiosities! Another very interesting discovery is trekking in the jungle what is now possible thanks to the initiative of Jembrana Tourism Authority: imagine a 1h30 to 2h tour by foot where you will discover the unbelievable wealth of Bali nature, its trees and flowers, its so tiny and beautiful temples nestled everywhere. We are ready for the next summer season to make you discover this new treasure of West Bali. We are sure you will love it!

Our welcome drinks are particularly appreciated by our guests who often ask the question « How do you make this delicious beverage ? ». The answer is very simple : everyday, we pick fresh coconuts directly from the property, from which we extract the juice and some flesh which are then mixed with lime and ice. From their youngest age, Balinese children are initiated to traditional Balinese dances in every village of the island. Among many other customs of their rich culture, dancing takes a particular importance: because it is not only a demanding and codified physical exercise but also a link to the past and  legends perpetuated by the Ramayana.
Since many years, Dajuma helps the dancing school of the village to maintain this beautiful tradition. Every week, young villagers are used to come on Dajuma stage and perform their art under the vigilant guidance of their professor. Our guests are always fascinated by this spectacle and their children are often invited to accompany them. Always a beautiful moment of sharing!

Facing the ocean, full west, Dajuma garden offers on more than 300 meters along the beach, a lot a locations where to relax and embrace an amazing environment: hammocks, long chairs, swings, gazebos are at your disposal in the most comfortable way,  to enjoy the always active beach with its fishermen, farmers washing their buffalos, local families bathing in volcano natural holes, surfers, tides and hundreds of birds. One outstanding feature of Balinese culture, among many others, is the quality of its food. Everywhere in the island, from the modest “warung” up to the most trendy restaurants, the food is just delicious. Some specialties are particularly appreciated by the visitors. Gado gado, ayam betutu, babi guling, rijstafel, tum bali, soto ayam, crispy duck, nasi goreng and beef rendang revisited in the Balinese way are some of these Balinese dishes which enchant the palate.
With its 8 cooks team, Dajuma offers 4 different dining experiences: the Rama restaurant serves a variety of Asian and Western food, the Sinta Lounge offers its unique teppanyaki Japanese tabletop, while the Bendega grill proposes tapas plates in the Balinese way. Not to be missed also are these romantic dinners on the beach.

What are the dreams of local fishermen’ chidren? Most of them want to do the same job as their fathers. From their youngest childhood, they like playing in the sea with small boats looking exactly like the ones of their fathers or learning how to surf the waves. This is exactly what the two brothers are doing on the picture but it seems that only one will become a fisherman, the other one looking for being a surf champion!

The delicate and colorful Balinese cuisine is something worth to discover when visiting Bali. Many of our guests are often asking the question « How do you make these tasty dishes? What is the secrets of your recipes? » The best way to answer this question is of course by practicing. We recently inaugurated a new way of discovering the secrets of Balinese cuisine by cooking on the beach on charcoals exactly like in the village. On the picture a young guest Tom is learning from Udiana and Surianta how to prepare these delicious bamboo sate. Selamat makan!

Since its grand opening on May 1st 2016, the gardens of our Bendega villas have been growing fast with a lot of various species (Frangipani, heliconia, lotus, hibiscus, orchid, soka, bougainvilliers). Each room hence benefit from a private garden, all different, for the greatest pleasure of our guests. On the picture, in front of villa Surya, our gardeners have created something really special: they started from a bougainvillier which they decided to marry with a creeping plant and some orchid. In the background the extraordinary color of the croton plants reinforce the impression of being in front of a canvas.

With its facilities comprising massage rooms and gazebo, whirlpool tub, hamman, hairdresser, manicure and pedicure, our Spa center is a place in Dajuma particularly appreciated by our guests who love resting after their treatments by savoring a ginger tea while looking at the sunset. The rest area being somewhat cramped, we decided to increase it by installing a glass floor on the pond surrounding the building. A beautiful place with colorful fishes strolling under your feet!
