I Gede Indra Yasa

Adieu I Gede Indra Yasa

It is with great shock and deep sorrow that we announce that I Gede Indra Yasa passed away on January 21st, 2013. Companion from the very beginning, his exceptional qualities made Puri Dajuma one of the most renowned establishments of the Bali West coast. He quickly learned all disciplines of the hotel business, from building to catering and management. Very dynamic, he did not hesitate to participate in the hardest of tasks with his team, which he made a model of unity. His young man’s figure hid a great charisma, a hypersensitive humour, an open-minded spirit, an infinite thoughtfulness and an intense spirituality. He used all his creativity to establish this beautiful harmony that reigns between nature, local people and guests in this unique place of Medewi Cape. Farewell dear Indra, your spirit is the essence of Dajuma, you will always be with us. His colleagues and friends from Puri Dajuma Cottages.

Sailing in west Bali

Sailing your mind away

Dajuma invites guests (depending on the gentle God of wind mood), to enjoy a unique sailing experience. Our sailing boat is imported from Austria and can welcome 4 guests. Our skilled skipper Mister Budiman will bring you safely away from the breaking waves and ride you anywhere between Rambut Siwi and Balian. Along the way, you might have the chance to see a ballet of flying fishes keeping themselves few centimeters above water on 50 meters length. Depending on the winds conditions we will take a moment to relax in the middle of the ocean by taking a plunge and watching a panoramic view of the shores with it’s virgin beaches and breathtaking mountain line of west Bali. Let us sail your mind away.

Perancak turtle conservation

Perancak – Turtle Conservation

The harbour of Perancak shelters two outstanding activities : traditional fishing and sea turtle conservation. Several conservation centers exist around Bali. Perancak conservation center was initiated by WWF in 1997 at a time where fishermen were used to catch turtles for ritual and commercial purposes. Today, the conservation center is run entirely by the Perancak community : the villagers from West Bali collect the eggs left behind by a mother turtle and give them to Nyoman’s team of 4 passionate turtle protectors. Each turtle leaves around 100 eggs from which 65% to 70% are kept in a nursery for approximatively two months, the period of time necessary to make them stronger. They are then released for a long and perilous journey in the ocean. Only one out of one thousand released turtles will reach maturity and come lay eggs at the same place as they were born 30 years ago. No need to say that tourists and local individuals need to know that huge challenge ! Dajuma has been supporting this turtle conservation center for the past two years and helped get tourists of all age sensitive to the topic.

Puri Dajuma 10 Years Anniversary

Puri Dajuma 10 Years Anniversary

What a memorable moment, Dajuma‘s 10 year anniversary! The day was filled with great surprises and touching moments. The entire Dajuma family was reunited to share, live and participate to this milestone. Our gardeners took up the challenge of creating the special atmosphere you can only find in Dajuma: a mix between tradition, international guests in an outstanding sunset scenery. Traditional delicacy was prepared by our dedicated chefs, all the staff was together taking care of every detail, alumni from the neighboring school danced, sung and played Jegog (bamboo) music for the best entertainment experience in West Bali. The entire village attended the event together with our guests way after the 12h00am mark. Waking up next morning was like emerging from a dream. A dream that could be experienced only once in a life time. Happy 2013 to all who helped to make Dajuma an example of friendship, fraternity and professionalism of eco-tourism! To our future guests we can’t wait to have you with us and participate in the writing of the next milestone of Dajuma.
