OFFSHORE FISHING AT DAJUMA

15 May 2023/in News

With a fishing village a Dajuma stone throw, it is natural to want to fish during your stay with us. This is what happened last week for our loyal customers, the Greg family (George and his son Ben). Starting at 6 am on a traditional Praho with our beach supervisor Jupri, they returned a few hours later with 2 beautiful fish called Diamond Trevally or Mirror Fish as shown in the photo. They said that was the beginner’s luck. They gave one of the fish to Jupry and for the other one, they asked our chief to cook him for their dinner. Well done guys for this beautiful fishing!

SURFING IN DAJUMA

14 November 2022/in News

Why not take advantage of a holiday in Bali to learn to surf? It is a sporting discipline that transcends the body through direct contact with an environment to which we are not accustomed: the ocean and generates a lot of adrenaline. In Dajuma all the conditions are met for you to discover it. An instructor, son of local fishermen who has been surfing since childhood. A fine sand beach in front of the hotel with long waves ideal for beginners. For the experienced, a free shuttle takes you to the famous Medewi surf spot in about ten minutes. And then surfers and boards can earn a well-deserved rest!

BETWEEN YOUR MOMENTS OF RELAXATION

5 September 2022/in News

Holidays are not always synonymous with idleness. This is particularly true in Bali when you visit the island as a tourist, where you are constantly encouraged to discover something new that delights you, be it cultural, artistic or sporting. This is the case of Dajuma whose site lends itself particularly well to all kinds of activities as shown in the photo with badminton, a very popular sport in Indonesia which has several of the best players in the world. A small overview of these on-site activities is given here: https://www.dajuma.com/e-library/#activities–tours. Enjoy!

243 NAUTICAL MILES AROUND BALI ON STAND UP PADDLES

18 July 2022/in News

Last week, Dajuma had the pleasure of welcoming two exceptional men Mike Brumby and Lukas Gallu (On the photo around Rondy) who have just accomplished an incredible challenge, that of touring the island of Bali paddling on SUP boards on almost 243 nautical miles or about 450 km.
Our colleagues Rondy and Dina had the opportunity to interview them in order to understand the ins and outs of this challenge. For them, the primary motivation was to campaign for the importance of protecting the ocean, especially the coral. Stopping over each evening, they also visited some schools to educate the younger generation on protecting the ocean and keeping it clean of waste. On this occasion they introduced SUP to the students of the school. This challenge also aimed to raise 20 millions rupiahs for the Coral Triangle Center, which focuses on ocean conservation. They chose Bali because of its commitment to sustainability and the protection of its natural environment. Mike plans to take on more SUP challenges in the future. Well done guys!

WATER SPORTS IN DAJUMA

18 April 2022/in News

Located on a cape not far from the world famous surf spot of Medewi, Dajuma is the ideal place to practice all water sports. Which ones? At the top comes surfing, which can be practiced in front of the hotel or a little further on in Medewi, well known for its famous left wave of 500m. Also very popular with our customers, the body board and the stand-up paddle. For those who want to venture further out to sea, go sailing, kayaking or fishing with the local fishermen. For the more daring, kite surfing as shown in the photo. And for scuba diving enthusiasts, we are only 1 hour 20 minutes from Menjangan, one of the most beautiful diving spots in the world. DAJUMA GETAWAYS: TEMPLES BIKE TOUR

17 January 2022/in News

What could be more enjoyable than discovering Bali by bike? This is what we offer our guests from Dajuma for excursions from the quietest to the most sporty. One of the most popular with our clients is the Tembles Bike Tour. You leave Dajuma around 8am in our adventure jeep, bikes in the back. After a 30-minute drive, you reach a traditional Balinese village called Tembles which is the starting point for your bike ride along the rice fields. You will visit the House of Jegog (traditional West Bali music), the village primary school, the traditional market and the very sacred Rambut Siwi temple at the end. About 4 hours. A perfect activity to keep you in shape and discover an authentic Bali.

SEA ACTIVITIES AT DAJUMA

15 July 2019/in Dajuma, News, Sport, West Bali

Because of its unique location straight on the beach, Dajuma offers a variety of sea activities. On top of the list, of course, comes surfing with the famous Medewi spot next door and its long left hand wave. Fishing offshore with the local fishermen is another one particularly apreciated by our guests. Bodyboarding in the waves is very easy to practice and brings a lot of pleasure to everybody from 7 to 77 years old! Stand-up paddle, sailing and kayaking are also 3 ways of discovering the sea in a different way.
On the picture, for their first time in Bali, Ludwig and Vanessa from Germany during their 7 nights stay with us, did some excursions to explore West Bali and decided to try our sea kayak. They enjoyed a lot!

FREE SHUTTLE SERVICE TO MEDEWI

24 June 2019/in Dajuma, News, Surfing, West Bali

Our guests who love surfing the Medewi wave, the longest left wave in the world with almost 500 meters long, have the choice to get there either by foot along the beach (20 min) or by car (10 min). A free shuttle service is offered to them on demand. On the picture, Juergen with the surfboard, Scott and Laurel from USA enjoy a lot this service, by combining every day, surf at Medewi and relax and wellness at Dajuma.

SURFING AT DAJUMA

11 February 2019/in Dajuma, News, Sport, Surfing, West Bali

Among our beach activities which cover swimming, fishing, snorkeling, diving, kayaking, sailing, SUP, bodyboarding, there is one which is particularly appreciated by our guests: surfing. Why? For 3 main reasons: the West beach of Dajuma is just ideal to learn. The waves are not too strong and the sandy beach is never a problem when you fall down, which is frequent when you start this demanding sport. The second reason is the proximity of a world class surfing spot called Medewi, situated a few minutes from Dajuma. Last but not least reason, is the presence of our surf instructor Jupri who will take care of you throughout the learning process.
No reason why you should not try during your next stay with us!

DAJUMA BEACHES

8 October 2018/in Beach, Dajuma, News, Sport, Surfing, West Bali

Our guests are often posing the question: “Is it safe to swim in the sea from Dajuma? And what kind of beach is it, sand or rocks? And what kind of sand? Very important questions when you plan to stay for some days isn’t it?
Let’s answer as precisely as possible: yes it is possible to swim in the sea as long as you respect the warning flag (yellow=go, red=nogo). We recommend to swim on the West beach which is very safe for swimming, surfing and bodyboarding. Despite the fact the East beach is everyday used by local lobsters fishermen, we do not recommend to swim there because of currents.
Depending on the tides, the sand of our beaches is either volcanic or coral-sand i.e. either dark or light as shown on the picture. In both cases, it is very soft under your feet with no risk to be hurt during your swimming sessions. Last but not least, just in front of Dajuma is a cape which discovers itself on 200 meters at each low tide, a true paradise for kids (and birds…) who would like to discover the underwater life. It is also the preferred place of local fishermen fishing from the seashore. See you soon in our swimming paradise!
