SCHOOL GUESTS

28 November 2022/in News

There is also another way to discover Bali: simply by visiting the villages and more precisely the village schools. By talking to villagers, teachers and students, you can learn a lot about social life in Bali today. This is what is offered to our guests in a tour entitled “Village life and rice farming”: after a long bike ride in the rice fields and a rice farming exercise in real size, they are invited to visit a village and its primary school. A very interesting moment of sharing. As the photo shows, 4 of our guests made it last week and came back absolutely delighted!

EVENT OF THE WEEK IN PEKUTATAN: HINDU STUDENTS GATHERING

11 November 2019/in Culture, Jembrana, News, Pekutatan, People, West Bali

The Jembrana Hindu Youth Communication Forum held an event entitled “Hindu Students Gathering”. All the Junior High Schools (public schools) in Jembrana delegated their students (male and female) to participate in this event. It took place at Satria Mandala Stadium in Pekutatan, 10 minutes from Dajuma, from November 7th to 10th, 2019 with the participation of 200 students. Each group built a beautiful and well decorated tent. This event had a lot of competitive activities such as traditional games, preparation of Hindu ceremonies, cooking traditional cuisine, Balinese decoration, Balinese story-telling, painting, writing Balinese letters in sanscrit, art performances, etc. In front of the tent of each group, they also prepared a small exhibition of local handicraft. This event aims at fostering the preservation of Balinese culture in all Hindu students, in particular two major features of hinduism which are love and responsibility. Using our free shuttle service, one of our guest, Birgit visited this event. She was happy to meet the students and discover their creativity and commitment to Hinduism. Well done guys!

NEW CYCLING TOUR “TEMBLES”

29 October 2018/in Dajuma, News, Tours, West Bali
Is there anything more authentic than discovering a new place by cycling? At Dajuma we encourage as much as possible this way of visiting our area where, behind each curve of the small roads, there is something ubuffanbuffaique to discover. Let’s take an example with our brand new tour called “Tembles Discovery”.  You start from Dajuma around 8 a.m. in our adventure jeep, the bicycles in the back. After 30 mn drive you reach a traditional Balinese village called Tembles which is the starting point of your cycling tour along the rice fields. You will visit the House of Jegog (traditional music from West Bali), the village primary school, the traditional market and the very holy Rambut Siwi Temple at the end. You are back at Dajuma around 12, ready for the lunch.

Hari Ulang Tahun – Happy Birthday!

4 May 2015/in News, People, West Bali

In presence of I Made Kembang Hartawan, Vice Governor of the Regency of Jembrana, the hotel school of Pekutatan celebrated last week, on the very holy day of Saraswati (Saturday, May 2nd), its 2nd anniversary. In a beautiful natural setting, a show of Balimese dances followed by a delicious meal were offered to the guests, everything prepared by the students of the school. Very unusual, the players of the Jegog orchestra were girls instead of the traditional boys… Perhaps a sign that things are changing in Bali? Created in 2013 to accompany the tourism development in this virgin part of Bali, the school is headed by I Gusti Putu Sudama and has already gained a solid reputation, attracting every year more than 100 students from all over the Regency. Dajuma is proud to participate to the development of the school and wish it all the best for a bright future!

Dajuma was invited to the ground-breaking ceremony for the first tourism school to be established in Jembrana Regency. Both the Governor (Bupati) and Vice-Governor (Vice-Bupati) were present with representative bodies of Tourism and Education. Besides the school building, the one hectare of land will include a sport center. From now on to 2014, a total of 144 students will register to this new school. This initiative will help the area develop manpower with all around skills about tourism. Dajuma will initially welcome trainees to get some on the job training and some of them may join us on the long term.
