A new beautiful fountain at Dajuma

Balinese people are famous for their artistical skills and talents. This is very true for major arts such as painting, sculpture, music, dancing. At Dajuma it is also true for gardening. Our chief gardener Anom and his team have created probably one the most beautiful garden where the Dajuma cottages are nestled. Everyday, they clean it meticulously, make the necessary cuts, invent new floral arrangements. Anom is now very busy with the preparation of the New Year festivities. However he found some time to create a beautiful fountain, located nearby the lobby, entirely designed and built by himself and our fisherman neighbor. Many plants, 3 flows of water, fishes and their cave : a small landscape to watch at.

Fishing at Dajuma: 2 techniques in competition

Just in front of Dajuma is the beautiful Medewi cape, which not only enchants our guests but also attracts every day a lot of tasty fishes at high tide. The question is then “how to catch them”? 2 techniques are used by local fishermen: the first one consists in launching a small net on the fishes when the high tide is pushing them to the shore. The second one, more traditional is by using fishing rods. As we can see on the picture, the winner yesterday was the fishing net! The fishing rod owner seems to be a little bit disapointed…

Astrid & Peter

Dajuma is always delighted to see Peter & Astrid. Our Dutch repeater guests enjoys Dajuma spirit at least once a year and even twice. Their motto, “Why looking for another place when at Dajuma we feel like at home”. Astrid & Peter like to relax and enjoy the maximum time beside the pool on the beachfront. It was nice to have you again and we can’t wait to have you back with us this year. Yes again this year! This is the plan. And we confirm, when they say something they mean it. See you soon!

ITB ASIA 2013

Last week, Dajuma had the opportunity to attend to ITB Asia in Singapore. This year, 61 participants were selected to be part of Indonesian Pavilion, supported by the Ministry of Tourism. We met tour operators from various countries including: Korea, Middle East, China, Russia, Italy and more. Dajuma had meetings back to back during the entire three days. We felt the growing interest for our little paradise and its amazing area which invites to experience the real Bali. Thanks to all. Now time to follow-up to get the best out of it!

Pondok Segara

Our unique villa was built on pillars. It is made all of local wood. Located on the West side of our little estate, it is away from the other cottages and suites. Overlooking the ocean, with our telescope, you can check the wave conditions at Medewi surf break, which is located less than 3 km away. Our charming villa is composed of 2 bedrooms with respective outside showers and one living room with kitchenette. It can welcome 4 adults and 2 children. Perfect place to stay one week sitting in your living room contemplating every evening sunset. For the aficionados of the web, we have the best Wi-Fi of the area. Dajuma was recently awarded as the “Outstanding Hotel Partner” 2012-2013, by Booking.com. This award was presented by Miss. Fifin Prapmasari Booking.com, Product Manager. This Outstanding award represents Dajuma as the most performing hotel in the region of Tabanan, Tanah Loth and Negara combined. This award belongs to Dajuma team work. Well done to all!

Trekking West bali

Dajuma is always challenging itself with new areas to discover. After the high season, it’s the best time to explore new tours with some of our Dajuma friends. The most recent one was to go to Blimbingsari and explore the area. Blimbingsari was the first Christian Village of Bali, who established itself on April 1st, 1947. Today there are 170 Christian families cohabiting with Hindu and Muslim communities. Just behind this well organized village there is a magnificent forest where we had a 3 hours trekking. The trek was conducted by the local ranger who made us passed through this luxurious jungle. We saw some birds, a variety of trees, which are several centuries old, different types of insects, a paradise for nature photographer. Now time to debrief with our Dajuma friends and decide how we will integrate this new tour to our catalogue. We’ll keep you posted.

Happy 80 Years

Dajuma is a great place to bring family together to immortalize a special moment. One of the latest was the 80th Birthday of Mister Bohre. His 4 sons together with their wife’s and grandchildren asked Dajuma to prepare a private evening. At low tide the beach is one of the perfect place to arrange a table decorated by our gardeners and maintenance staff. Gambalan music was played and young dancers performed for the family. All were delighted. Long life to Mister Bohre.

Jegog Evening

Jegog instruments were created in Negara in 1912. They became very popular among local people to celebrate the harvest time. Today Jegog are used during wedding ceremonies and Saturday night’s informal meetings among village people. The instruments are made of bamboo of various sizes, which gives high to low vibrations. Jegog music is performed regularly at Dajuma during evening dinners on the grass. Dancers will come and perform traditional dances. After the show people are invited to play on the instruments. All musicians come from the nearby villages where they are occupied during the day with other activities such as farming. A great moment to share with them, for all and especially families.

Robyn & Tristan Wedding at Dajuma

Puri Dajuma is the perfect setting to immortalize one of the most important moments of one’s life. Surrounded by luxurious vegetation, walking on cushion grass or ebony fine black sand carpet, overlooking a waves breaking ocean. All this, is at your disposal for your wedding. We also provide shuttle service and all necessary arrangements from a simple blessing on the beach to an official documented wedding ceremony. We had the privilege to organize the wedding of Robyn & Tristan where they gathered 34 family members and close friends. All coming from the UK and Australia. The evening was festive, entertained by our traditional Jegog Group and dancers. The wedding cake was prepared by one of our local pastry artisan. All enjoyed this precious and unforgettable moment here in our little paradise. Puri Dajuma Team wishes a long and happy life to Robyn & Tristan and is looking forward to seeing them again next year.
