WEDDING OF ANNY AND DANIEL AT DAJUMA

Anny and Daniel, loyal guests of Dajuma Beach, returned once again, this time with an even more special occasion in mind. Having stayed with us many times in their favorite 9B, they chose to share their wedding with friends and family, booking the entire resort from October 16 to 18. On October 17, under a golden sunset, the couple exchanged heartfelt stories of their love, surrounded by the warmth and joy of their loved ones. The evening blossomed into an intimate dinner beneath the moonlit sky, with the gentle sound of waves adding to the magic. It was a truly unforgettable celebration, cherished by all who attended this special day. Our sincere congratulations dear Anny and Daniel!

At Dajuma Beach and Dajuma Terrace, the celebration of Galungan and Kuningan is a truly special experience, honoring Bali’s rich cultural heritage. During Galungan, the resort comes alive with beautifully crafted penjor (decorative bamboo poles) lining the pathways, creating a festive atmosphere. Our guests are invited to witness traditional Balinese rituals, complete with offerings and prayers, that mark the victory of good over evil. Local dance performances and gamelan music add to the festive mood, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in authentic Balinese traditions. As Kuningan approaches, special ceremonies are held, signifying the farewell of ancestral spirits. The Dajuma Terrace offers a culinary journey with special Balinese dishes, featuring flavors that capture the essence of the celebration. JEMBRANA CULTURAL PARADE

Last Saturday, the Jembrana government celebrated Negara City’s anniversary with a vibrant cultural parade. The event showcased a dazzling array of participants from each district in Jembrana, along with various local institutions and companies. Pekutatan District, home to Dajuma, proudly contributed to the parade with a distinctive Gebogan display. These traditional offerings, usually made from fruits and cakes, were uniquely crafted this year using local natural products such as cloves, coffee, cocoa, and bananas. The striking Gebogan procession was enhanced by the lively beats of a Baleganjur music group and the spirited performance of a local high school marching band. The parade not only delighted our guests but also highlighted the rich cultural heritage of Jembrana and  celebrated community unity and local craftsmanship.

At Puri Dajuma, the celebration of Indonesia’s Independence Day on August 17 is particularly poignant due to the presence of the monument dedicated to national hero Ngurah Rai on the beach. Ngurah Rai, a key figure in Bali’s fight for independence, is honored with special ceremonies, including a wreath-laying and a moment of silence at the monument. The day begins with a flag-raising ceremony, where the Merah Putih flies proudly, followed by cultural performances highlighting Balinese traditions. Guests and locals alike participate in traditional games and activities that foster community spirit. The atmosphere is charged with patriotism, as the monument serves as a powerful reminder of the sacrifices made for Indonesia’s freedom, making the celebrations at Dajuma deeply meaningful and reflective of the nation’s history.

CELEBRATION OF I GUSTI N’GURAH RAI

In a nice demonstration of respect and admiration, the veterans of the Indonesian army organized on April 5 a poignant event to commemorate the heroic landing of one of the most revered figures in the country, Colonel I Gusti Ngurah Rai, in Pekutatan Beach during his Java-Bali expedition in 1946. The gathering took place against the backdrop of  Puri Dajuma, where a monument is now in honor of this momentous event.

Galungan and Kuningan are two of the most significant Hindu festivals celebrated in Bali. Galungan marks the victory of dharma (good) over adharma (evil) and is celebrated with great fervor. During this ten-day festival, Balinese Hindus visit temples, make offerings, and engage in various cultural activities.
Kuningan, which falls ten days after Galungan, signifies the day when ancestral spirits return to heaven after visiting the earth during Galungan. It’s a time for prayers, offerings, and expressing gratitude to ancestors.

The celebration of the new year at Dajuma unfolded in a joyful and festive atmosphere, immersing guests in the rich cultural heritage of Bali. With the rhythmic beats of Jegog music, this traditional bamboo ensemble has set the stage for an enchanting evening, creating a harmonious blend of ancient and modern sounds and accompanying the famous Balinese dances on  the stage, weaving tales of mythology and folklore. Then live music took over with talented musicians and singers who added their contemporary flair to the evening. On midnight precisely, the night sky comes alive with bursts of brilliant fireworks, casting a kaleidoscope of colors over the Puri Dajuma grounds and signaling the arrival of a fresh chapter.
Chef Dedi and Rudi, the culinary maestros of Puri Dajuma, crafted with their team of cooks a delectable buffet that was a feast for the senses.
In the heart of Puri Dajuma, in the beautiful garden under the stars the celebration of the new year has been a grand spectacle this year, that leaves an indelible imprint on the hearts of all our guests who partaked in this enchanting experience. A NICE CHRISTMAS GIFT AT DAJUMA

Dajuma marked a double celebration with exuberance as it commemorated its 21st anniversary, a jubilant milestone coinciding with the festive spirit of Christmas. The joyous gathering brought together 42 dedicated staff members, a testament to the enduring commitment of most, who have been an integral part of the Dajuma family since its inception in 2002. Each staff member received  a parcel, symbolizing gratitude and appreciation for their longstanding contributions. The confluence of the two celebrations in the garden, under the stars, created a harmonious atmosphere, echoing the spirit of unity and shared success that defines Dajuma’s journey!

Saraswati Day in Bali, celebrated on December 16th, is a vibrant cultural occasion dedicated to the goddess of knowledge, Saraswati. On this special day, the  people of our neighbour village, including our hindu staff, engage in a unique purification ritual, immersing themselves in the ocean in front of Dajuma during the early morning hours. The sea, considered sacred, becomes a purifying medium as locals partake in prayers and offer blessings to seek wisdom and enlightenment. The rhythmic sounds of traditional ceremonies and the sight of devotees in colorful attire create a mesmerizing scene, showcasing Bali’s rich cultural tapestry. It’s a day where spirituality and natural beauty intertwine, fostering a deep connection with tradition and the divine. Happy Saraswati day!
