Hiking Ijen volcano Puri Dajuma, Beach Eco-Resort & Spa, West Bali Java Nature Tours

Hiking Ijen volcano

15 January 2018/in Java, Nature, News, Tours

It is already 9 years that the Ijen volcano is worldwide known with its spectacular crater and sulphur extraction on East Java.

And it is 15 years that Puri Dajuma is involved in the great experience of its hiking.

Not so far from Bali straight joining Java by ferryboat during the night, our guests arrive at the basis of “Kawah Ijen” at 3 AM so that they can enjoy together the “blue fire” and the sunrise in the Dante atmosphere of the crater and sulphured green lake. They are always happy to offer some gift to these courageous minors who are able to carry 70 kg on their shoulders.

An unforgettable tour if you are familiar with mountain conditions and wear appropriate shoes!

DAJUMA OUTING Puri Dajuma, Beach Eco-Resort & Spa, West Bali tours excursions visiting

DAJUMA OUTING

21 November 2016/in Dajuma, Java, News, Tours

Dajuma staff took last week some good time with a trip to Malang organised in 2 groups of 30 people each. Everything has been carefully prepared by the management (Erly HR, Alit and Rondy GMs).
Let Alit (white shirt on the right) report these 3 days of discovery of East Java.
“The trip started at 7 am from Dajuma with a comfortable bus of 45 seats directly to Malang where we arrived around 17.00 at Swiss Bell Hotel (check in time).
After two hours rest and shower we prepared a first visit to BNS (Batu Night Spectacular ) until 10 pm.
There are dozens of rides that we will not be able to forget after enjoying them like a ghost gallery, a slalom test, the highest air bike, garden lanterns, and trampoline.
In these places you can also test your adrenaline by trying some of the rides like a drag race, mouse coaster, and several other games.
Second day we started at 9 am after breakfast doing rafting on the river Brantas. It can indeed make the heart beat hard. Not only because of collisions with river rocks, but also the effect of plunging following the swift river currents. Sensations also vary. Sometimes twisted like a snake, sometimes too rocked.
Everybody ate a lot after rafting around 2,5 hours, next visit to pick up the apple fruit directly from the tree (Apple is famous fruit from Malang).
The last day, we visited JATIM PARK 2 (recreation Park in Batu with Secret Zoo and Animal Museum). In Secret Zoo we also visited Savannah,  a traditional African village with African atmosphere. There are huts with roof made by straw where pigs and another animals are walking around.
Finally, all the team went shopping to bring back some nice souvenirs from Malang while on the way back to Dajuma.“

Ijen volcano: a true wonder of Indonesia

13 October 2014/in Java, News, Tours

Located 114 km from Dajuma, the Ijen volcano complex is a group of stratovolcanoes in the Banyuwangi Regency of East Java, Indonesia.
The journey starts from Dajuma very early in the morning and after touring up the traditional West Coast of Bali we reach the most western tip of the island where we board the ferry to Java. After a one hour drive passing through coffee & rubber plantations in a 4WD car, we reach the starting point for the ascent of Mt Kawah Ijen. After a revigorating 1h30 trek,  we reach the summit of one of the wonders of Indonesia, Mt Kawah Ijen (2368 m) with its truly amazing sulphur crater, inside a larger caldera which is about 20 kilometers wide and surrounded by an esmerald green lake.
The lake is the site of a labor-intensive sulfur mining operation, in which sulfur-laden baskets weighing 70 kg in average. They are carried by hand from the crater floor as shown on the picture.
A trip to do absolutely !

Dajuma Staff Outing at JogJakarta

25 November 2013/in Dajuma, Java, JogJakarta, News, West Bali

To close the celebration of Puri Dajuma 10th anniversary and reward the staff for its dedication and attention to the guests, a special outing took place in two groups of 22 people, during 3 days with the discovery of Jogjakarta and its surroundings. A memorable trip during which the staff was invited to visit the Keraton (the palace of the Sultan of Jogjakarta which was during the guests « Revolusi », from 1946 to 1949, the capital city of Indonesia), the beautiful Candi Burubudur, the most important Buddhist temple in the world re-discovered in 1814 by Sir Raffles and finally the Prambanan complex of Hindu temples. This trip was for Dajuma staff an opportunity to remember that both religions Buddhism and Hinduism were living harmoniously across Java during several centuries a long time ago.
