Further to his wedding with the delicious Rita and after 3,5 years of loyal service to Dajuma, Michel decided to explore new challenges within Indonesia. All the staff and the management of PT Puri Dajuma would like to congratulate Michel and Rita and wish them happyness, health and success in their common future. During almost 4 years Michel has been very active and successful in his Marketing and Business Development responsibility. To close the celebration of Puri Dajuma 10th anniversary and reward the staff for its dedication and attention to the guests, a special outing took place in two groups of 22 people, during 3 days with the discovery of Jogjakarta and its surroundings. A memorable trip during which the staff was invited to visit the Keraton (the palace of the Sultan of Jogjakarta which was during the guests « Revolusi », from 1946 to 1949, the capital city of Indonesia), the beautiful Candi Burubudur, the most important Buddhist temple in the world re-discovered in 1814 by Sir Raffles and finally the Prambanan complex of Hindu temples. This trip was for Dajuma staff an opportunity to remember that both religions Buddhism and Hinduism were living harmoniously across Java during several centuries a long time ago.

Dajuma is always delighted to see Peter & Astrid. Our Dutch repeater guests enjoys Dajuma spirit at least once a year and even twice. Their motto, “Why looking for another place when at Dajuma we feel like at home”. Astrid & Peter like to relax and enjoy the maximum time beside the pool on the beachfront. Last week, Dajuma had the opportunity to attend to ITB Asia in Singapore. This year, 61 participants were selected to be part of Indonesian Pavilion, supported by the Ministry of Tourism. We met tour operators from various countries including: Korea, Middle East, China, Russia, Italy and more. Dajuma had meetings back to back during the entire three days. We felt the growing interest for our little paradise and its amazing area which invites to experience the real Bali. Thanks to all. Now time to follow-up to get the best out of it!

Dajuma was invited to the ground-breaking ceremony for the first tourism school to be established in Jembrana Regency. Both the Governor (Bupati) and Vice-Governor (Vice-Bupati) were present with representative bodies of Tourism and Education. Besides the school building, the one hectare of land will include a sport center. From now on to 2014, a total of 144 students will register to this new school. This initiative will help the area develop manpower with all around skills about tourism. Dajuma will initially welcome trainees to get some on the job training and some of them may join us on the long term.

Tumpek Landep, or the Day of the Iron, for the Hindu Balinese, is devoted to Sang Hyang Pasupati, the Lord of metal tools and weapons. This celebration is specific to weaponry and vehicles (containing iron elements). Dajuma cars, motorbikes, tools, fishing equipment etc., are washed clean and decorated with small, color offerings made of palm leaves. The meaning of this is, just like the sharp iron: With this celebration,  Hindus pray so that these material things continue to be strong, bring good fortune to their owners, and clean their soul.

Dajuma is a great place to bring family together to immortalize a special moment. One of the latest was the 80th Birthday of Mister Bohre. His 4 sons together with their wife’s and grandchildren asked Dajuma to prepare a private evening. At low tide the beach is one of the perfect place to arrange a table decorated by our gardeners and maintenance staff. Gambalan music was played and young dancers performed for the family. All were delighted. Long life to Mister Bohre.
