Dajuma's escapades - Mount Agung

Dajuma’s escapades: Mount Agung

Among all treasures of the island of Bali, there is one particular, majestic and sacred: Mount Agung. For millennia, this stratovolcano has been revered by the Balinese who consider it is the center of the world. From the top of its 3100 meters, it dominates the surrounding fertile plains and attracts thousands of tourists every year.

About 900 meters above sea level on its southwest flank is the very sacred temple of Besakih regularly frequented by the faithful and very interesting to visit.

A unique escapade not to be missed during your next stay with us!

Happy quarantine at Dajuma for Lucas's family

Happy quarantine at Dajuma for Lucas’s family

Last week, we had the privilege to welcome Lucas’s family. With his wife Lise and young 7 years old son Elan, they plan to live in Bali for some time. Elan will join the famous local Green School. Lucas is one of our loyal guest, he already staid with us 2 years ago with his family, Mr. Russ.

At the beginning, Lucas planned to do the self quarantine at Dajuma from December 29th, 2020 to January 13th, 2021. But when they arrived in Jakarta coming from Singapore, the authorities asked them to do a first quarantine period of 5 days, with 2 PCR tests at the beginning and at the end of the period. All the results being negative, they were allowed to enter Bali on January 1st, 2021 and come to Dajuma to start a new quarantine.

Lucas and family staid for 15 days, they said that they really enjoy their stay with us. They particularly loved the good atmosphere, the quietness and the space, just perfect for quarantine. Elan also liked our tropical garden and the pool slide. They said they will come back. We wish you all the best in your new life in Bali!

RESTORATION OF OUR MONUMENT BOAT

RESTORATION OF OUR MONUMENT BOAT

All our customers know the monument to the glory of Colonel N’Gurah Rai who landed on the beach in front of Dajuma in 1946 to fight and prepare for the independence of Indonesia. Due to its position in the submerged area at high tide of the beach, this iconic monument suffers daily assaults from the ocean and must be regularly repaired. This is what happened last week. Our team of masons-artists has completely restored this beautiful monument to the delight of the surrounding villagers and our guests. Nice work guys!

Happy Wedding Wayan, Congratulations, Bulleh and Family

Happy Wedding Wayan, Congratulations, Bulleh and Family!

At the end of 2020, one of our family at Dajuma, Sumawa also known as Bulleh and his wife shared a great moment of their son’s wedding. The wedding took place at one of supreme priest house in Yeh Embang Village.  Due to the pandemic, the wedding was held simply, no crowded party and has been following the health protocol recommended by the authorities.

Bulleh’s son, Wayan Wiranata was a former trainee at our restaurant. He married Ni Kadek Fitriani Dewi. Their wedding ceremony was a bit different, since Fitriani is muslim. She had to do one step called Sudi Widani ceremony before the wedding. By performing this ceremony she has legally become a Hindu.

As usual, one day before the wedding day, the other Dajuma’s family attended the wedding reception, to congratulate the couple and their family. In normal situation, we usually invite our guests to participate in such a ceremony nearby the hotel, to immerge in the so rich Balinese culture and surrounding people.
