DAJUMA ESCAPADES:  WEST BALI COUNTRYSIDE

This month we invite you to another escapade in the countryside of West Bali. You will enjoy discovering the great Jembrana landscapes thanks to the unique location of Dajuma, at the border of Bali National Park. Let’s start this one day journey: after a short drive, our 4WD car takes you to a forest on  top of Medewi area. The starting point for a trekking to the river, the Medewi dam and the channels feeding the famous « Subak », the Balinese coopérative irrigation system.
After climbing a little bit above the river, it is time to enjoy cycling in the beautiful nature, down to large rice-fieds and while crossing  charming villages.
A refreshing tour combining physical exercise and discovery of the authentic Balinese countryside!

SURFING AT DAJUMA

Among our beach activities which cover swimming, fishing, snorkeling, diving, kayaking, sailing, SUP, bodyboarding, there is one which is particularly appreciated by our guests: surfing. Why? For 3 main reasons: the West beach of Dajuma is just ideal to learn. The waves are not too strong and the sandy beach is never a problem when you fall down, which is frequent when you start this demanding sport. The second reason is the proximity of a world class surfing spot called Medewi, situated a few minutes from Dajuma. Last but not least reason, is the presence of our surf instructor Jupri who will take care of you throughout the learning process.

RELAX IN PARADISE

Among many assets, Dajuma offers to its guests a lot of places in its 1,5 ha tropical garden where the master words are RELAX and UNWIND. Let’s have a look at these places: along the 200 meters seashore, just a few steps from the beach, comfortable long chairs, hammocks, swings and Gazebos await your visit with a breathtaking view of the ocean. Even when the hotel is full you will always find a tranquil place where to relax. A little bit higher, our Bendega Pool deck is also another place to visit: overlooking the fishermen beach and the Medewi surfing spot, you will be fascinated by the mouvements of the fishing boats and the surfers. MEDEWI BOARDRIDERS CHALLENGE 2016

From December 9 to 11th, 2016 will take place in Medewi the 2016 Boardriders Challenge. The Medewi wave is particularly appreciated by surfers because of its regularity and non-dangerousness.
For those who don’t know the location, Dajuma is the perfect place where to stay between 2 surf rides. Located next door from Medewi, with a free shuttle to get there, Dajuma will offer you the best possible combination between sport and exquisite accomodation including first class cottages and villas, 3 restaurants and a spa for recovering peak form.

SUP INITIATION AT DAJUMA

With our partner FoolMoon and under the guidance of our beach supervisor Jupry (left on the picture), many guests choose Dajuma for their initiation to Stand-Up Paddle. Why is it so? Just because the waves on our beach are ideal to begin this demanding sport. And when you feel your practice OK, you can surf a step further, on the famous Medewi surfing spot that can be seen in the background of the picture. Ready for a trial?

DAJUMA: THE IDEAL PLACE WHERE TO LEARN SURFING!

A few steps from your room is the West sandy beach, just perfect for learning this beautiful sport. Jupry, our beach supervisor born in the nearby village, practices surfing since his childhood and will be delighted to accompany you.
After a few hours of learning, you will be able to discover the famous surfing spot of Medewi,  where surfers from all around the world are used to compete. Medewi is located  a few minutes from our place, accessible either by foot along the beach, by boat or by car. A free shuttle is at the disposal of our guests in this respect.

FREE SHUTTLE BY THE SEA

Medewi is one of the world’s best destinations for surfing. From our location, Medewi is just a a few kilometers by the road and almost next door by the sea. We are pleased to offer to our guests a free shuttle either by jeep or by speedboat as shown on the picture. For beginners we also offer surfing lessons which are given on the nearby beach a few steps from your cottage. Many of our guests are happy to learn from Jupri, our beach activities supervisor, a new hobby during their vacation.

MEDEWI OPEN OF SURFING

Located a few distance from Dajuma is the outstanding surfing spot of Medewi.
Last week-end, on Oct 31st and Nov 1st, Medewi Boardriders in Association with the Jembrana Government organised the “Jembrana Open Of Surfing” competition, with 40million in prize money on offer. The contest is a national one and attracts every year hundreds of surfers from all around the world.

Surfing lessons

Dajuma is just beside the famous Medewi break. If you are not familiar with surfing and do not want to adventure yourself in this intermediary break, no problem we have the solution. We have an agreement with Medewi surfers, who will be delighted to give you lessons. No matters your level. Beginners will practice in the safe water, with sand bottom, just 50m from Dajuma. If you are intermediary, we will shuttle you to Medewi Break where the teacher will wait for you. Shuttle between Dajuma and Madewi is free for all Dajuma guests. For any reservation, please just ask the reception who will call the teacher to know the best time to stand the wave. We have Dajuma fashionable rash guards that you can buy from our shop. Get one as souvenir and wear it back in your country. You will be fashionably Dajuma.

Rip Curl Grom Search in Medewi

Our beach resort is located on the famous Medewi surf spot. This break is well known as one of the longest right-hander and it is just 5 minutes from Dajuma. This spot is recommended as perfect fun wave for all surfers. We shuttle our guests there for free. For the 10th year, RipCurl holds 11 GromSearch series around Bali. The 8th serie took place on May 25th and 26th at Medewi Beach. Competitors are local surfing boys and girls aged up to 16 years old, who are given the opportunity to showcase their talents in a fun, friendly but competitive environment. As explained by Rip curl, this competition is ‘the search of the ultimate male or female grommet’. The winner award will be to compete in Australia against champions from all over the world in the International GromSearch finals. This meeting was both exciting and beautiful to watch!
