Every beautiful garden has someone who quietly cares for it every single day. At Dajuma Terrace Eco-Lodge & Spa, one of those dedicated people is I Kadek Gustika Astiawan, a member of our Garden Team.
Originally from Pupuan Sawah, Kadek is 27 years old and has been with Dajuma Terrace since the resort first opened in July 2024. Together with his colleague, Jack, he looks after the tropical gardens, caring for the plants, maintaining the greenery, and ensuring every corner of the property remains peaceful and inviting.
For Kadek, working at Dajuma Terrace was an easy choice. The resort is close to his home, and more importantly, it allows him to do what he genuinely enjoys. His love for plants makes gardening more than just a job—it is a way to relax, recharge, and stay connected with nature.
Beyond caring for the gardens, Kadek also enjoys expressing his creativity by preparing decorations for guest entertainment, romantic dinners, cultural ceremonies, and seasonal celebrations at the resort. His artistic touch adds a warm Balinese atmosphere that makes every occasion even more memorable.
Outside of work, Kadek enjoys fishing and spending time with his family. He is happily married to his wife, Vera, and together they are raising their daughter, Berliana. They also run a small family warung from their home, serving traditional dishes such as Tipat Cantok (Balinese version of Gado-Gado) and homemade chicken soto. After finishing his work at Dajuma Terrace each day, Kadek returns home to help his wife with the business.
For Kadek, the family warung represents more than an additional source of income. He hopes to one day expand it into a larger warung in a better location, creating a welcoming place where more people can enjoy their homemade food.
Through his dedication, creativity, and passion for nature, Kadek helps create the tranquil surroundings that make every stay at Dajuma Terrace a memorable one. Whether tending the gardens or supporting his family’s small business, he approaches every role with the same commitment and care.
