At both Dajuma Beach and Dajuma Terrace, this enchanting practice is brought to life daily by our dedicated staff, who create intricate offerings and decorations that grace temples, pathways, and guest rooms. To the great joy of our guests, we offer a special workshop every Monday in Dajuma Beach and every Thursday in Dajuma Terrace where they are invited to learn the traditional techniques of Balinese floral decoration. Guided by our staff, our guests discover the meaning behind each element—color, shape, and placement—while crafting their own canang sari offerings and flower arrangements. It’s a moment of creativity and connection, offering insight into the spiritual heart of Bali and allowing guests to take part in a living tradition that continues to thrive in our resorts. SURPRISE BIRTHDAY AT DAJUMA

Last week, Dajuma had the pleasure of welcoming a delightful mother and her daughter who used to stay with us often. This is the place they have chosen to celebrate a birthday on June 9th. The mother asked our staff to organize a surprise birthday with special decoration in the room and in the restaurant. What our staff hastened to do with their legendary good humour. Happy birthday!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SAMANTHA

Last week we had the pleasure of celebrating Samantha’s birthday. A special decoration for her bed was prepared in great secrecy by our staff while her parents and brother hosted a special dinner at our Rama restaurant. Our restaurant team has set up a special table decorated in Balinese style. One more good memory to bring back from the Island of the Gods. Happy Birthday dear Samantha!

A BEAUTIFULL TRADITION IN DAJUMA FOR NEWLYWEDS

Since its opening in 2002, Dajuma has a habit of surprising newlyweds by decorating their beds with flowers. A beautiful tradition that is expressed today by this magnificent floral decoration shown in the photo. It required a good hour of preparation by our stewardship staff who are not lacking in imagination. For the newlyweds, the surprise is total because everything is prepared in the greatest secrecy in cooperation with the travel agents. Hope you like it!

FLORAL DECORATION AND TRADITIONAL BALINESE DANCES

Among all the activities offered by Dajuma, there are two that are particularly appreciated by our guests: the floral decoration and the Balinese dances. Both are regularly offered. For Balinese dances, the dance school of the village of Pekutatan has the habit of practicing this subtle art on our stage facing the Rama restaurant and the ocean. Our guests are invited to participate especially children but not only as shown in the photo. The other popular activity is floral decoration using mainly flowers and bamboo. The Balinese are real experts in the field, capable of making any decorative object, simply by cutting young bamboo skins mixed with fresh flowers. It is also an opportunity to get together to discuss village life and compare creations. Try it, we are sure you will love it!

The art of floral decoration is practiced on all occasions by all Balinese families. On festive occasions, it takes a special turn with these majestic “panjors” that adorn the roadsides everywhere in Bali. In Dajuma, this beautiful tradition is perpetuated every day, everywhere in the resort with its magnificent flowery basins. In the restaurant each table receives a bouquet that is changed regularly according to the mood of our staff. It brings to the meal a touch of color and scent that enchants our guests. Also regularly, we organize floral decoration workshops where our guests learn how to create complex floral compositions, which combine flowers, wood and bamboo. THE TRADITION OF FLORAL DECORATION IN BALI

Totally part of Balinese culture is the tradition of floral decoration. Water and flowers are sacred in Balinese Hinduism and find their expression in the daily life of all Balinese families through floral decorations which are supposed to foster three human qualities: patience in the way to arrange flowers in complex and beautiful settings, knowledge of nature and sharing with Gods and humans.

In Dajuma, our staff loves sharing this tradition with our guests by organizing every week floral decoration workshops.

Another beautiful tradition in Dajuma consists in sophisticated floral decorations which are prepared by all the staff on the occasion of specific events such as anniversaries, honey moons, romantic dinners, wedding ceremonies and Balinese shows on stage.
Most of the staff on duty participates in the preparation of these nice decorations. Here on the picture, is Suadewi, one of our kitchen supervisors, who knows as well how to assemble beautiful  floral compositions and prepare savorous dishes!
