RELIGIOUS HARMONY IN WEST BALI

RELIGIOUS HARMONY IN WEST BALI

23 February 2026/in News

West Bali is known not only for its beautiful landscapes and tranquil beaches, but also for the harmony among its diverse communities. In this peaceful region, different cultures and religions live side by side with mutual respect and understanding. Last week, this spirit of togetherness was visible as Ramadan and Chinese New Year were celebrated close to one another. In Jembrana, Confucian and Buddhist communities gathered at temples such as TITD Cung Ling Bio in Negara to celebrate the Lunar New Year. The temple was decorated in red and gold, and visitors — regardless of faith — came to offer greetings and share in the joy. Angpao and mandarin oranges were distributed as symbols of blessing and prosperity. At the same time, the Muslim community began observing Ramadan, a holy month of fasting, prayer, and reflection. In the evenings, families gather for iftar, and neighbors of different backgrounds often show their support by sharing food and warm wishes. Harmony in West Bali also includes the Hindu majority, whose daily offerings, temple ceremonies, and traditions form the spiritual rhythm of the island. It is common to see mosques, temples, and shrines standing within the same neighborhoods, reflecting peaceful coexistence. In Jembrana, diversity is not only acknowledged — it is embraced as a natural and beautiful part of everyday life.

MORE THAN A TREK: A LOCAL LIFE EXPERIENCE

MORE THAN A TREK: A LOCAL LIFE EXPERIENCE

Lis and her husband, Soeren, are valued repeater guests from Denmark who have stayed with us at Dajuma Beach several times over the years. This year, after spending three nights at Dajuma Beach, they decided to continue their holiday with a three-night stay at Dajuma Terrace. During their stay, they chose one of our most popular activities, a waterfall trekking experience. Along the way, we encountered several local residents engaged in their daily activities, including harvesting rice in the fields. We also met an elderly woman, approximately 80 years old, who was working in the rice paddies. We approached her resting hut and had a brief conversation about her work and daily life. Afterward, we continued our journey toward the waterfall. This experience was deeply appreciated by the guests, as it allowed them to connect with the local community and see authentic village life up close, an unforgettable part of their journey.

HEALING HANDS, PASSED DOWN THROUGH GENERATIONS

HEALING HANDS, PASSED DOWN THROUGH GENERATIONS

Jasuli is one of Dajuma’s most dedicated team members, having been part of our journey since the very beginning, back when Dajuma was still only a dream in the making, during the early construction stage. He first worked with our garden team, helping shape the beautiful tropical landscape that surrounds the resort today. As time passed, Jasuli’s life path gently led him to another calling. With a natural talent for massage, he later moved to the spa, where his talent could be shared more deeply. He learned traditional massage from his grandparents, respected healers in Pekutatan Village. The knowledge he received was not only a skill, but a legacy, one that has been passed down through generations with sincerity, wisdom, and heart. He has now become a highly experienced therapist with more than 18 years of practice. Many guests truly love Jasuli’s massage, not only for its technique, but also for the sincerity behind it. He gives every treatment with heartfelt care, hoping it brings comfort, relaxation, and positive energy to each guest.
Jasuli’s wish is simple: that Dajuma will always be the best it can be and he will always continue to give his very best service to our guests.

A SERENE BEGINNING OF 2026: YOGA RETREAT AT DAJUMA TERRACE

A SERENE BEGINNING OF 2026: YOGA RETREAT AT DAJUMA TERRACE

2 February 2026/in News

We were delighted to welcome our very first yoga group of 2026 at Dajuma Terrace, marking a peaceful and meaningful start to the new year. The group consisted of 15 guests from Spain, led by Nathalie Comas, who was also the yoga instructor guiding the retreat. During their three-night stay, Dajuma Terrace became a space for relaxation, mindfulness, and connection, perfectly aligning with the spirit of their yoga journey.
To make their experience even more memorable, on their final evening with us, we presented a traditional Balinese dance performance. This special moment allowed our guests to immerse themselves in the richness of Balinese culture, creating a heartfelt cultural exchange and a beautiful farewell celebration. The evening was filled with smiles, appreciation, and shared joy, captured perfectly in the photo from that night.
The group shared very positive impressions of Dajuma Terrace and expressed their happiness in choosing our resort as the destination for their retreat. We are honored to have been part of their journey and grateful that they leave with wonderful memories to take home. We look forward to welcoming more yoga retreats and wellness groups in the future, continuing to share the serenity of Dajuma Terrace and the beauty of Bali with guests from around the world.
