NYEPI “Silent Day”
March 23^rd 2012

Nyepi is the Balinese New year which is marked be 3 specific ceremony. First Melasti starts 3 days before Nyepi. It’s the day of purification of God to the beach. Activity is going all around temples of Bali.

Second Ogoh Ogoh is happening one day before Nyepi. That evening you will see ballet of “papier maché” Demons, drums and fireworks carried by worshipper organized in village teams. All demons will vanished away in the flames.

Nyepi day you will be limited to Dajuma premises. In the evening you will observe silence and lights should be closed by 21h. The entire Island is under curfew. How serious Balinese are aabout it. Well   planes are grounded, airport is closed and no trucks, car motorbike allowed, only for emergency cases. Unique experience in the world.
